BCCQ member Cushman & Wakefield’s latest Qatar Marketbeat report offers a comprehensive look at how Qatar’s real estate market fared through a turbulent second quarter of 2026.

Regional geopolitical tensions and disruption to the Strait of Hormuz weighed heavily on investor sentiment, tourism and expatriate mobility during the period, with Qatar’s economy forecast to contract sharply this year before rebounding strongly in 2027 as energy exports resume.

Despite these external pressures, the report finds that core real estate fundamentals held up relatively well, with rental rates across the office, residential and retail sectors remaining broadly stable even as occupancy softened in pockets and transaction activity slowed.

Looking ahead, the report’s outlook is cautiously optimistic, with recovery across all sectors expected to hinge on the pace of regional stabilisation, and major upcoming events such as the Qatar MotoGP and Formula 1 races in November flagged as potential catalysts for a rebound in tourism and hospitality performance.
