Delivering Business Insight Through Strategic Partnerships

The British Chamber of Commerce Qatar was delighted to welcome members and guests to our BCCQ Business Lunch at the W Doha, bringing together business leaders, professionals and industry experts for an afternoon of insightful discussion, networking and knowledge sharing.

Business lunches have long been one of the Chamber’s most valued event formats, providing members with the opportunity to hear directly from leading voices shaping the UK–Qatar business landscape while strengthening professional connections across our growing network.

We were honoured to welcome Ian Mason, Director of Business and Trade at the British Embassy Doha, who provided members with an important update on the progress of the UK–GCC Free Trade Agreement (FTA). His presentation offered valuable insight into one of the most significant developments in UK–GCC trade relations in recent years, highlighting the opportunities the agreement could create for businesses operating across Qatar and the wider Gulf region.

We were equally pleased to welcome Elias R. Chedid, COO & Deputy CEO of SEIB Insurance & Reinsurance Company LLC, who explored the increasing importance of resilience and risk management in today’s evolving business environment. His presentation on catastrophic risks across the GCC encouraged thought-provoking discussion around business continuity, preparedness and long-term organisational resilience.

Creating Value Through Partnership

At BCCQ, we are committed to delivering events that provide genuine value to our members. Our close working relationship with the British Embassy Doha enables us to keep our business community informed of important policy developments, trade initiatives and opportunities that directly impact organisations operating between the United Kingdom and Qatar.

Equally, the continued support of our sponsors plays an essential role in the Chamber’s success. Sponsors such as SEIB Insurance are more than event partners—they are active contributors to our business community, sharing specialist knowledge, industry expertise and practical insight that enrich our events and provide real value to our members.

By bringing together government representatives, subject matter experts and leading organisations from across our sponsor network, BCCQ creates opportunities for meaningful dialogue, informed discussion and stronger business relationships that extend well beyond each event.

We extend our sincere thanks to Ian Mason, Elias R. Chedid, SEIB Insurance, the British Embassy Doha, the team at W Doha for their outstanding hospitality, and Brian Candy for capturing the event so well.

As the Chamber continues to grow, we remain committed to delivering events that inform, connect and support the UK’s business community in Qatar.
