Join the British Chamber of Commerce Qatar for an evening of networking, conversation and practical insight.
As we move into the cooler months, we’re bringing our BCCQ community together for an evening designed to offer something a little different — an opportunity to step away from the working day, connect with fellow members and enjoy an informal evening together, while making space for an important conversation about the people behind our businesses.
The evening will feature a 40-minute interactive session with Kayleigh Basford, exploring managing stress and preventing burnout.
A conversation about the human side of performance
Stress and burnout are increasingly relevant to individuals, leaders and organisations. The pressure to perform, adapt and keep moving can sometimes become unsustainable, and recognising the signs early can make a significant difference.
Drawing on her professional expertise, real-world insight and lived experience, Kayleigh will lead a short, engaging and practical conversation exploring:
- The difference between everyday stress and burnout
- How stress can begin to tip into burnout — and the signs to look out for
- The pressures that can affect individuals, teams and organisations
- How individuals and leaders can recognise early warning signs
- Practical ways to protect energy, establish healthier boundaries and sustain performance
- What organisations can do to create healthier and more sustainable ways of working
The 40-minute session is designed to be engaging, interactive and relevant — giving you practical insight that can be taken away and applied both personally and professionally.
An evening to connect, unwind and continue the conversation
The session will sit within an informal evening of networking at Al Messila, with opportunities to connect with fellow BCCQ members and business professionals in a relaxed resort setting.
With outdoor networking, refreshments and an atmosphere designed to encourage conversation, the evening provides a chance to step away from the demands of the working day while still engaging with a topic that matters to modern businesses.
Why this conversation, and why now?
The event takes place just three days before World Mental Health Day on 10 October, whose 2026 theme is “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change.”
For BCCQ, this provides an important opportunity to look beyond the commercial side of business and consider the people who lead, manage and work within the organisations that make up our business community.
Mental health and business performance are not separate conversations. How people feel, work and perform has a direct bearing on individuals, teams, workplace culture and the sustainability of organisational success.
This evening is an opportunity to have that conversation openly and practically — while also taking time to connect, unwind and enjoy the wider BCCQ community.
